Some of the lakes with mixed habitat result in the largemouth region intersecting and co-mingling with that of smallmouth, making for a variety of fishing opportunities.

In Ontario, smallmouth bass fishing success is usually optimised in more open water, where you can utilize light to medium-action six to ten pound test lines and normally a six foot spinning rod. The fly fisherman will also find smallmouth bass eager to attack top-water poppers or minnow-shaped ribbons in a shallow water setting.

Published At: Isnare Free Articles Directory http://www.isnare.com

Fishing Fun: Head North To Canada

Canada Fishing

Picture it: standing knee-deep in a cool, sun-drenched stream, trout or salmon breaking the surface of the water all around you while you cast your line to catch one of those babies, heart racing with excitement. In Canada there are rivers, lakes, and streams in abundance. You can find both fresh and saltwater fishing areas all within close proximity of each other. And the fish themselves are plentiful in this great part of North America. And as a result there are many types of fishing trips to choose from, so you are sure to find one or more that you love.

As for bodies of water, there are two main types of fishing in Canada – salt water and lake water fishing. Both are different from one other, and information concerning either is available in most any of the plentiful fishing equipment shops. You can also buy everything in the fishing shops that you will need for your trip.

Canadian Fishing Destinations

Canada is a large country located north of the United States in the continent of North America. Because geographically, the country is made up of massive and solid land areas, not many beaches can be found except if you would go to Canadian coasts in the eastern and western tips. However, fishing is still one of the leisure and occupational activities that make the country popular.

There are numerous major rivers that run across and within Canada. Thus, local folk are very familiar and adept into the habit and necessity of fishing for freshwater fish. Aside from rivers, there are also lakes, ponds and even creeks that are well maintained so as to continue being a haven and habitat for various species of fish.

If you are aiming to go fishing in Canada, you must prepare to lodge and board in six major areas or destinations. There are so many fishing resorts and outposts on so many different lakes and most of these lakes have excellent walleye fisheries. Some anglers prefer going to Canada to catch the big northern pike and muskie, but they usually release these fish and keep the walleye to eat. Walleye aren't going to give you the fight that a big northern pike will, but walleye are easy to fillet, they taste great and once you can find these fish, they aren't too tough to catch. Crankbaits, jigs and live bait are usually all you need to catch walleye. If you intend to plan a fishing trip to Canada and you'd like to catch plenty of walleye for the dinner table, make sure to do your research. While most lakes have plenty of walleye, there are many factors that will dictate how well you do on your trip. If you plan a drive-in trip, take a look at the resorts, where they are located on the lake, what types of boats they give you access to and if they have guides available. I always recommend a fishing guide on the first day of your trip, but if you choose not to use a fishing guide, it is always nice to have that option if fishing is tough on the first few days.
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Kevin_Sewell

Fishing In Canada - The Authentic Outdoor Experience

Fishing in Canada is all about the calm, stillness, and peacefulness. Canadian fishing is great for the entire family, where it is well known for the different types of fish you can actually catch. Canada fishing is some of the best in the world and offers a wide variety of challenges. Fishing in Canada is wide open, with many of the fishing lakes and rivers are inaccessible by car.
Due to Canada's thinly populated nation, it has more fishing locations to offer to the touring public. These Canadian lakes have large numbers of fish, due to low fishing pressure and pollution levels. You can find yourself sport-fishing for salmon or halibut off of the Canadian coasts, troll the deep Northern Canadian lakes for trout, cast a fly-rod over a wild Canadian Arctic stream for char, or toss a fly at a trout in Cape Breton. In Canada you can take the pleasure of fishing for northern pike, salmon, lake trout, walleye, brook trout, halibut, steelhead, arctic char, and bass. The lakes and rivers of Canada can provide you with the best fish, and the most satisfying fishing conditions.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Aaron_Prather

Planning a Canada Fishing Trip

Every winter, there are numerous fishing shows throughout the country and many of the shows will have booths with people promoting their fishing resorts and lodges in Canada. Some of you may be familiar with the All Canada Shows. Since there are plenty of people looking to plan their yearly Canada fishing trip, we decided to help with the process.
The first thing that most people do is try a search online. Online searches can be very beneficial, but you are most likely to get certain lodges to show up as opposed to an entire directory with the top fishing destinations. In Canada, there are so many places to fish that it can be somewhat confusing trying to figure out where to go. We're going to focus on the top areas to visit.

There are four major lakes that get most of the attention and they are all located in Ontario, Canada. These lakes are called Lake of the Woods, Eagle Lake, Lac Seul and Red Lake.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Kevin_Sewell

Bass - Fishing Topwater Baits

Bass fishing with topwater baits is without a doubt the most fun you can have fishing for large or smallmouth bass. Much of the fun comes from cruising the lake or river in a sporty boat. Many fishermen like to stand at edge of the river to catch fish, but most people make use of their boats. Those that enjoy wading get a bit of an adrenal rush from being in the water with the fish. Wading can be dangerous at times so one must be cautious; leaving it much safer to stay in the boat. Before any fishing trip you need to ensure that you have a good working fishing boat that will not leave you stranded. There are many different types of boats and you are sure to find the one best for you.
Sports boats are popular and offer many comforts while on the water. When you think of making the purchase you should also consider safety while on the water. Sports boats can be used not only for fishing, but also enjoying the water. Ontario fishing early spring season is best for volumes of walleye and northern pike. Late spring and summer bring the added challenge of lunker size largemouth bass, small mouth bass and dinner plate size crappies that are being caught in ever increasing numbers. Throughout the summer and well into late fall, huge tackle smashing muskie and northern pike patrol French River waters, with an appetite that increases as the water starts to cool down.

Bass Family Fishing

Bass fishing represents one of the most popular fishing sports experienced today. The bass family, together with Striped, Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted, Black, and White, serve to start countless numbers of latest anglers every season. This fame has yielded a multi-million dollar industry unto itself, aside from the businesses of other modes of sport fishing. To illustrate this point further, there are boats on the market intended specifically for bass fishing.
Canada provides a quantity of the world's most excellent fishing grounds. The summer season opens in March and ends late in July. Many anglers head for Vancouver Island to fish for Feeder Chinooks, Halibut, Ucelet, and King Salmon aside from Bass. The variety of fish found within Canada's borders help to preserve it as a popular destination for the sport fisherman. The fame of Canada's fishing and tourism industry can grant many great opportunities, but it also serves as a problem for protection of the country's resources.

Canada Vacation

Although people don’t think about Canada as a potential vacation destination, it has a wide variety of tourist destinations to choose from, along with many activities even the most diverse family will be content with. Canada is a great
While there, you might even be interested to find out that Canada has a history all its own; a fascinating history with fascinating locations, events, as well as activities you may not have known existed in the deep north.

Ontario Canada Fishing

Have you been thinking how nice it would be to get away for a little fishing and relaxation? The Fraser River is the last remaining river in the world to have a healthy wild population of White Sturgeon. The only other two rivers with these fish are the Columbia and Sacramento River in USA, but both are supplemented with a hatchery program. Whether you want a fishing trip to fish for a giant white sturgeon or one of our many salmon species, it's all right here.

Trophy Fly-Fishing Canada

When autumn arrives in Saskatchewan, it brings with it some of the top trophy fly-fishing Canada has to offer, for this is a province where lake trout, rainbow trout, walleye and northern pike grow to world-class proportions.
One of the great trophy destinations in the province is Tobin Lake, 275 kilometres east of Saskatoon. Formed in the 1960s with the construction of the EB Campbell hydroelectric dam, the lake has developed into a renowned walleye fishery. It holds the current walleye record of 8.2 kilos and the pike record of 17.1 kilos, and fly fishers have a good chance of hooking into a five-kilo-plus walleye at the lake. A few suggested flies are Clouser Minnows, Crayfish imitations and Grey Ghosts.
If the walleye fishing is slow, consider the Nipawin Great Northern Pike Festival. It runs at Tobin Lake until Oct. 4, letting anglers try their luck at catching and releasing one of the tagged northern pike with a total prize pool of around $70,000.

BY DAVID SMALLWOOD
